I was just offered a job in Asheville and will possibly be moving around October 1. I will be working in the federal building downtown on Patton Avenue. I will be staying in Asheville during the week and going home to Columbia, SC most weekends.
I'm looking for a small apartment with an easy commute to work with rent under $1000/month. No kids or pets to worry about. I have my own transportation. I don't mind the suburbs but would prefer a place with some flair.
Anywhere north of Asheville would be suitable. Even in the Woodfin area. Problem is that vacancy rate of apartments is about 1% and there is a huge demand for them.
West Asheville. Parts of it are Artsy, hipster style. Don't know of any apartment around there. Zillow is a pretty good site to look at for rents.
There is not really anything in North Asheville/Woofin area. I lived there. Merrimon Ave is ok, busy.
