I've bought furniture there over the years. Yes, quality of furniture is excellent, wide selection. Prices? maybe a little more than average. They have a huge inventory.

You might want to check Penland's Furniture on Rt. 70 in Swannanoa. They have the best prices (imo) and if they don't have what you want in their store, they will order it for you. They carry the best brands also; and I've purchased some Flex Steel furniture there. If you see something in another store, they can get it for you, for less.

Our and our neighbors experience is that Tyson is the best place around to get quality furniture at fair prices, i.e. you get what you pay for.

Has anyone gone down to Hickory Furniture Mart? And is it worth the trip?

Hickory Furniture Mart is mostly showrooms. It didn't work for us when we wanted a bed, because we wanted to either load something up and leave with it, or have a short drive to pick it up when it was ready. We went with Penland's, and they delivered and set it up.

The Mart does have an Amish store, though, with absolutely stunning furniture.

I stumbled upon a place on Hendersonville Rd in S Asheville. Heartland Amish Furniture. Very well built American made furniture at good prices. I think this is the place.

Have had good luck at Tysons. Did not like the furniture mart much, too much trudging
from one showroom to the next I was exhausted and out of sorts by days end. We bought a Morris style chair from Heartland Amish Furniture, they were very good to work with on special order.

Been there but did not find anything that we could use and we looked thru all the catalogues. Looking for a platform bed that was at least 12" off the floor. Wasted trip. Bought it off Amazon.
