Personally I haven't seen anything here driving-wise that I haven't already seen in other parts of the country, except for one thing: those mopeds or under-powered cycles or whatever they are, going down Hendersonville Rd doing 25 mph when speed limit is 45 mph. Those things shouldn't be allowed on roads where they can't do the speed limit.

I've seen 2 drivers in the past 2 weeks who stopped and without looking in the rear view just backup and park/turn.

Yes, AAB. I'll 2nd that. Almost got hit by a driver in a restaurant parking lot today in Laurel Park! I had gotten out of my car parked across 'the aisle' and was heading toward the restaurant when this woman just zoomed out of the opposite side and didn't even look back. When she slowed enough to turn, I banged on her left rear panel and she hit the brakes.

She looked to her right and looked clearly at me, continued to back up, and drove right out. D'oh ! So you know she heard me bang on the fender because I got her attention -- how did she know that the bang she heard was not her hitting me?

Many are the clueless, the ignorant, the deaf, those who need glasses, the arrogance impaired, -- none of whom should be on the road.

I've behind the goofballs for MILES causing their own traffic jambs. I have spoken to a few LEO here and they from what I understand are not allowed on Primary roads, secondary only. But I have been told they sort of don't know what the difference is between a Primary or Secondary road is.

The max speed of a moped on level ground can not exceed 30mph or it will be looked at as a motorcycle . There is Nothing saying a moped can't use any and all NC roads unless its marked with a minimum speed limit but they must stay well to the right edge of the road . The rest of use may pass as needed by staying 2 feet plus away while going around it .

Treat them like a bike cycle . There on the roads so deal with it . TBH , tell your leo friend he better brush up on the law pertaining to moped's .

"Statutory minimum speed limits for passenger vehicles on interstates and other primary routes on the State Highway System are 40 MPH for roads with maximum speed limits of 55 MPH,"

LOL drive 64 a dozen times a day and don't recall if the speed limit is 50 or 55mph?

You weren't in a little red Toyota around noontime today were you ! or were you in that newish big bad black GMC pickup?

Some dufus was riding my bumper heading east from Etowah, mostly no passing. He would have passed at the Etowah bridge, but cars were coming west. He followed me mostly down to Main St., and a little beyond at So. Grove, sure enough, there was a 2 car accident where someone probably ran the red light, and flipped over in the church parking lot. Fire trucks, 3 police cars etc. Wonder what tags were on those cars.

It's 55 mph only once as you pass Cummings Cove Rd., then it slows down to 50, then 45, then 40 around Hawthorne Hills, and pretty much 45 all the way in, then lowers again near ParDee. I think the only spot you can (almost) safely pass is the stretch near CARZ auto place; and if you do, you'd better boogie, because then you come downhill to a traffic light heading east. I used to live off Crab Creek Rd. when I first moved here -- really have a knack for living near these speedways, 'eh.

LOL I was in the area. Been going from Edneyvile to Horse Shoe. I was towing a John Deere Tractor though. Did see a car flipped last week in that area but not yesterday. 64 by Church or King.
I did sit in some traffic on 64E in Edneyville. Accident closed 64 for some time about the same time.

TBH Not going to debate this any more . Go look up the rules of the road pertaining to Mopeds your self .. Not Cars and Trucks and Motorcycles . Unless a road is POSTED it has no minimum speed limit . One of the reasons bikes can use them along with tractors found in more rural areas .
