Hi,

How can I tell if it's worth driving 5 hours from Charleston to go skiing at Sugar Mountain. It seems the weather has been too warm and from their site I can't tell conditions to know what it would really be like and how to know when to go. Thanks !

Probably not. I live 5 minutes from Sugar. It's lightly raining today. Even though we're supposed to get a few inches of snow tonight, the underlying base isn't very good at Sugar. This is firsthand info from someone (not me) who skied there on Wednesday.

On the other hand, conditions are great at Appalachian Ski Mountain. I skied there on Friday, today and plan to go again tomorrow. It's a much smaller mountain than Sugar, so not sure it's worth a 5 hour drive.
