Drives me nuts to see so many without masks walking around WNC. If you've got the money for these ridiculously priced ones, here's a link https://n95maskco.com/

I posted more about them here: https://www.city-data.com/forum/curr...-4-a-1810.html

Heads up: these things smell/stink right out of the bag....I suggest opening the bag when you get it and unfolding the masks to let them air out. Which I did not do when I grabbed one to go to the doctors office. Truly awful....let them air out!

Thanks for the heads up. Look at the brighter side, Nobody could see the scowl on your face from the smell with the masking hiding it.

Well, double heads up: after leaving them out, open and unfolded for 24 hours, they still stink. And I thought that the one I used yesterday didn't stink anymore after wearing it for 15 minutes. So, I went out to the car and put it on to check it, and indeed, it still stinks too. I guess I got used to it. So now I advise people NOT to buy them. I don't know what that smell is at all, but it's gross.

I wonder if you could try spraying it with a bit of Fabreeze and let it dry before using them.

Why not hunt for paper/fiber masks made in US, or cloth mask with added layer(s)...the linked masks are from a HK 'distributor' and I suspect they were/are pumped out in some China based sweat shop with questionable materials; thus, the odd smell.

There are pages of 'masks' and more pages of 'which mask does what' on the net...

If one isn't huddling with/hanging out with or down stream of someone infectious, a mask of less than N95 is more optics than protection for the wearer, imo.

Or, stay home.

I've noticed that many regional Lowe's stores are now stocking Daisheng KN95s masks for around $3 each.

When my initial supply of masks form years ago was running low I bought some from Ace. Same problem. They are stiff and smell. Don’t seem like the same quality of surgical masks when covid wasn’t an issue.

I complained to my parent who works for a national filter company (duh but I forgot as they make more then that)and they got me the hospital grade reusable filters and covers. They were allowing their employees to have sets. I’m so glad I have something decent as I have an autoimmune disease and have to go get meds every few weeks.
