Hello all,

Plan on moving to the Asheville area in the following months. Is there a best time to acquire an apartment or house for rent? Just wondering if I wait too long if college students will make getting a place difficult. Trying to stay within 30 mins of Asheville. Would like to stay below $900 per/mo.

Thanks a bunch!

Sorry maybe question wasn't posed properly. Just wondering if there's a best time/worst time to find a place? At the moment Craigslist looks very promising, but not sure if that's a good barometer for the rest of the year?

I don’t know if there is a good/bad time of the year to look. Can’t speculate on rental rates, but home prices in WNC tend to be relatively pricey. UNC-A is relatively small, so I doubt it makes a difference.

I’m a property manager in Asheville. The rental market is pretty brutal all year long in Asheville. I was recently looking for a friend who’s price point was $2200. Look on Craigslist and Zillow, those are places that I advertise my rentals.

Appreciate the comments. At my price point I may be pushing the envelope on getting something I want at the perfect time. Can't imagine you would have a tough time finding something at $2200 though. Again thanks for commenting. I'll see how things shake down.
