Have heard a lot about this community so set out to find it and take a look. The original community is Simple Life The Village. They are building a new community across the street - The Hamlet by Simple Life. It is located in a really pretty area east of Flat Rock in rolling hills near apple tree orchards. To get there, turn east off of I-26 onto Upward Rd. Go less than a mile and turn left onto S. Orchard. Go about a mile or a little less and the development is on the left with the newer one on the right. Both are gated, although the gate at new development was open. The original community has many houses, most of which have a deck and/or screen porch. There are some models at the entrance to the new development. They were locked but I was able to get a good view through the windows. They were all about 400 SF, of different styles and all had very nice decks and/or screen porches. The SF was well planned and all seemed larger than the actual SF. Very nice. There’s a sign that says they are priced from the $130s, but I’m guessing the final price would likely be more than the $130s by the time you customized it. There were realtor signs with contact information in case you wanted to tour them. I googled and found some videos online about the communities. Evidently, there’s a real sense of community here with a pool, rec center, dog park, pond, and plenty of room for walking. Some of the houses back up to wooded areas. You own the house, but not the land the house sits on, so you pay a monthly lease fee, but it includes things like yard maintenance, garbage service, cable. Overall, I was pretty impressed and can definitely see how this would be a good fit for many.
