For anyone looking for something to do in downtown Asheville later this week, the Southern Highland Craft Guild (contemporary and traditional craft) is comprised of some of the finest craftsmen in the Southeast... the whole country. I highly recommend it.
I couldn't agree more and really wish that I were going to be in Asheville in order to attend the Fair. I've bought some wonderful things at past Fairs and it is a great chance to meet the artists. There are many items present that you won't see at the Guild's usual retail locations like the Folk Art Center. The Fair does get quite crowded so I'd recommend hitting it early.
And parking can be a challenge as well but well worth the effort.
