Hi All!
I moved to Apex, NC from Boston awhile back and I am so thankful to be in NC! The pace of life up North was becoming unbearable. Too fast/aggressive for me.

My fiancee and I are considering moving to WNC, since we're looking for something a little less densely populated and a little more country.

We obviously need to spend some time out there, but my fiancee is concerned about jobs and school systems. He is a nurse and I am finishing up school (after a reallllllly long time) and will hopefully be an RN too. We're looking for areas that are close to good hospitals and has access to good school systems. Also, up North we have a lot of big old farm houses and mature trees in the front yards. I'm looking for something with that feel. We aren't really development people, and we're looking for places with a great sense of community (which, from what I hear, would be most places).

Do you have any towns that fit that description?

Thanks in advance for all of your help!

Hey CrazyMidget, Asheville has the Veteran's Hosp. plus good-sized medical area. It is a city but a lot of folks, at least some I know that work at the Veteran's Hosp. live outside of the area. Then there is Boone area. There are a lot of different areas, but you need to take weekends and go to different places and see where you feel at home. As we have posted a thousand times on here, please do not move anywhere without a job.
