I am in Rutherford County NC and am debating whether or not to pull my 7th grader out of public school and homeschool him. I have really been pushed to my limit with the things that go on in public school that are allowed and even ignored.

Does anyone have any information on homeschool groups or in general for our area?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Some of these links might help. I couldn't find much for Rutherford County specifically, but these have a lot of information for North Carolina in general. Good luck whatever you decide.

Do an internet search on homeschools. I did this with my son when he was in the 4th grade (only for the 4th grade). There are many programs specific for grade level etc... You need to purchase them instead of trying to come up with your own is my best advise. It can get pricey. You said co considering. Think hard for it is far more complicated then many people think. What does he think about it? There is a DVD out now (and it's a book) called "The War on Kids" by Cevin Soling. It's about a different view on public schools that is very interesting. Anyway, I understand and Good Luck to you and your son.
