The wife took a trip to Wichita and in the parking garage for the hotel the first couple of floors were public use and had private residences in the parking garage. She thought this was strange as I don't believe we have anything like that here in OKC, if we do we have never seen them.

She was rather fascinated actually... What is is like? Are they cheaper or more expensive than a regular apartment? I would think it would be rather dark with only maybe one or two rooms having windows.

At anyrate, my wife just wanted to know more about them.

Thank you.

Jon

In the garage, with no windows to the outside? I live in a building in Frisco TX that is built around a parking structure. The middle is a 5 level rectangular parking structure like you would see at an airport or a downtown area.

The building is then built around it with hallways on the other side of the wall from the garage, and apartments facing outward. Each level of parking between the first and fourth floors are even with the hall. The 5th floor garage is for extra parking. It is above all the apartment levels and not covered, so no one parks there if other spaces are available.

On the north and south end, there are additional structures which surround the courtyard and the pool. That makes the building look like three adjacent squares, enclosing the courtyard, garage, and pool. The apartments are nice and are priced higher than others in the area due to the convenient location to employment and shopping.. Many have a nice view but some overlook a 7-Eleven. However the halls are really breezeways open to the outside and not well decorated so you frequently realize your apartment is just attached to a garage, but once inside, it's a nice place.
