Wondering how tough it can be to get on.I have wildland experience but no structure. Figure if I come there and got some extra time for a short time might as well try to help the town out and such

I think they'll take all the help they can get. With some experience I doubt you'd have any trouble getting on. We appreciate it!!

Yeah I can see the need lol. Thought occurred to me about helping when I read about the shortage off emergency services and such

Even tho it's a volunteer force, there's probably still a full time Fire Chief & assistant FC. Find out who they are & call & talk to them. Who knows....it may even get you a lead or 2 on somewhere to live....tho maybe don't even say anything about that part the first time you talk to him/them....

Yeah I wouldn't do that lol. I don't presume stuff of other people like that. I plan on calling the school there and talking to them about my gi bill so. Was looking at student housing also. Should be able to afford it while I learn. But yeah with my free time I am def down to help. Ty for the advice everyone. New to forums still so its cool to see.

It is refreshing to see somebody with your attitude.

Volunteers are always needed, but training somebody that may or may not be there next month is a real show stopper. So impress upon them your desire to stay in the community.

Yeah I completely agree. Is why I wanna get into college over there. It gives me a better chance at oil work and it also process I'm there to stay lol. I'm just Suprised more people coming up there ain't helping.
