I was given a 5 day notice to pay or quit. The letter stated I must either come up with the money (Rent was 675, 400 was paid already and 275 was 6 days late) BEFORE Monday. I received the letter Thursday night. If it wasn't paid by their stated date that I had to move out prior to monday. I have been told that if a notice is under 11 days that they must not count the day the letter is received or weekends. They started their count on the day they wrote the letter which was 2 days before I received it. My question is that now that I have moved out since I only had 24 hours to come up with the money, do I have a case against the landlord for not following WI statute on the 5 day notice process? Had I been given the full 5 business days I could have found someone to help out. The business is not open on weekends so I had from thursday evening until Friday at 5pm to come up with money.
I feel as if my rights were violated. Is this worth pursuing?

In addition to this they state I still owe them for the remainder of the lease. I feel this is unethical since I had no choice but to leave and now I have to pay for another place to live there. What are my options?
