I went to the NOAA site and it seems pretty complicated. I think we're getting past the time of year where it is visible but not quite sure, end of October maybe. Here is the site:
Is there a certain place and time of year when I would have the best chance of seeing the Aurora Borealis? Thanks.
I've seen excellent Aurora Borealis in both summer and winter. The most important thing as far as place is to have a clear view of the northern sky, and getting away from city lights helps.
We had some amazing ones a few weeks ago. I know you can see them all year but it does seem that I seem them more in fall and winter. Maybe because the sky is darker earlier.
johnson69 - try a search engine with criteria like "2008 northern lights visibility in Wisconsin". I just Googled it & yielded several helpful links. Please note several factors influence when can be seen & how vividly/clearly. I really hope you & your family get to view... truly spectacular!! Best of luck and enjoy...
