Cabin is near the Mauston, Lake Petenwall area. Last fall while on a weekend visit found lots of acorns in the cabin, paper towel roll full, kleenex box and a bag of potatoes. We thought it might be squirrels, but saw no evidence of any damage. When opening cabin back up this spring, more acorns in a drawer with towels, at least 100. We know there have been mice there as evidenced by the poison eaten and a few dead ones and have figured out where they were coming in and plugged holes. Our question is, could this possibly be mice with that number of acorns or squirrel or chipmunk? We have gotten many differing opinions. Anyone else have this problem in their cabin?? Thanks.

Could be mice or chipmunks, they nest, they store. Did you plug every possible place where water lines, pipes come in the cabin?

They can squeeze in the smallest space, its amazing. I lived in mobile homes for 30 yrs. with a crawl space and the only thing that worked was lots of steel wool. I tried tape one time that didn't do it.

If its mice.....poor a little peppermint oil around the place, they cant stand that stuff. I store my car in the garage in the winter and I always throw some on the floor in it just before I put it away. Never had a problem. Good luck.
