Ever get bad news at work in the morning when you should have gotten that bad news in the afternoon? (department)

Let's say you are informed at 10:00 a.m. that a department will be closing down and you will be responsible for some of that work. You need some time to think about how you want to respond to that and work through any feelings you have about it. Or what if you get some news that affects you that makes you mad. It would have been way better to get that news an hour before you were leaving.
