Anybody currently work or worked in clinical research before?

If so, could you pm me? I'm trying to determine if my current salary is in line with coordinators with my background/experience....

I'm not sure how to PM as I haven't used this forum much. I will be glad to discuss salaries with you.

Depends on what you do in clinical research - clinical research coordinators at the site generally make crap as does anyone at entry level at a CRO.

Generally, you don't make good money unless you work on the sponsor side or you move high enough up the food chain that you're a PM or Lead CRA.

PM me for more details, I don't check this forum that often.

Your salary may also be different depending upon where you live and the cost of living.

Here is a link to a graph of specific professions within Clinical research with their average salaries and the information is current as of January 2012.

PayScale - Clinical Research Salaries, Clinical Research Associate Salary

That payscale chart is generally accurate - adjust down a little if you're not in a high cost of living area.

As I said upthread, salaries are generally higher at a sponsor company than a CRO, but you typically need a significant amount of experience to make the jump.

Degrees and certifications also play a bit into it. I know certified CRAs make a little more than the non-certified ones. PMP certifications also tend to bring a pay bump for project managers and typically a MS or MBA does raise the salary a little. It's VERY difficult to get a clinical position at a sponsor company without at LEAST a BS or RN even with significant experience. Pharma companies love degrees - science degrees, nursing degrees, management degrees, doctorate degrees in statistics. This has become even more of a trend due to the economy.

Entry-level CRA's can make as low as 60K or 75K, but the more years experience you get, you can easily make 100K-200K or more depending how much time you want to put in and/or depending if you want to be an independent contractor.

I forgot exactly what my friend does but she does CR, not sure if it's CRA/CRC/CRO/etc, and she has 100k base. I wouldn't say she is very senior either as she's not even 30 years old yet

She's probably a CRA with maybe 3-5 years direct CRA experience possibly. It varies according to previous years in industry as well.
