Hey!
I've always found it humorous, at the few jobs I've held, at the different things that needs to be changed when we have "visitors in town from HQ". At one company, the dress code in the building was casual, t-shirt, jeans, whatever. The policy book; however, had business casual. HQ didn't know about this, and when they were in town, we all had to dress up! One person forgot they were in town and had to run to the local Wal Mart to buy some clothes to change.
In another company, we all had to sign paperwork that were missing from day 1. HQ must've wanted to audit the paperwork, so each of us had to sign papers that were obviously forgotten about.
Any radical "lets pretend we're always like this" changes for corporate visitors?
I used to work in textile manufacturing for a large privately owned company. Anytime the owner was scheduled to visit our plant we would go on a painting binge and put a fresh coat on every thing we could. The running joke was that the owner must think that spun polyester thread smells like fresh paint.
My company's HQ is in another city; we're a satellite office. We don't dress up for a big wig's visit, but we do follow the dress code at HQ (business casual) when we're there. Normally we wear jeans and sneakers. We do dress up when a big client visits, but that has happened only once since I've been here. They usually go to our HQ.

When I worked for a government contractor we had to pretend we were working. I mean, literally, they told us to pretend to work. Because actually we had nothing to do.
