I am switching jobs. My last day with my previous employer was on friday paid weekly. I start my new job on monday, the new company pays bi-weekly. According to payroll people at the new job, they said that my start date is monday and it will take about 3 weeks before they start processing payroll. I know, i have one last remaining check at my old job coming next week. Roughly, how long do i have to wait to get paid at my job, i cant not afford waiting a month to get paid. Both at my old job and the new job, they outsource HR/payroll which is causing all of the stupid delays

Only your payroll people can tell you when you get paid. There is no possible way for anybody here to give you an accurate answer.

Outsourcing payroll does not necessarily cause a delay.

Correct, I did that for a few years and they hand-delivered the checks Mondays from my data entry Friday.

Most larger employers pay a week late, so if you start on a non pay week and they pay every other Friday you will have to wait 3 weeks, but you have to ask because it can vary greatly.
