Maybe these questions could clear it up. If someone schedules a dentist appointment, are they required to schedule time off in advance (and is it an entire day)? And if the appointment is cancelled, do they still lose the PTO if they do not miss work, or do they get to keep their PTO?

However a dentist appointment would be handled, jury duty has to be handled the exact same way. You cannot have special stricter rules for jury duty that do not apply to other appointments that require missing work.
