Why I did I bring home more money after taxes when I was paid on the 15th and 30th
But now that I get paid bi-weekly I bring home less money after taxes with the same exact salary?
I used to think getting paid semi-monthly was a bad thing but maybe not so much anymore
Depending on how much of a difference, the payroll tax 2% increase (well, return to where it was in 2010) could also impact. I know you were out of work for a little over a year, so if you are making the same thing now that you were then, you are going to be losing an additional 2%.
40 hours at $10/hr = $400 with the 6.2% payroll tax is 24.80. The 4.2% tax was 16.80...this would be $16/check on bi weekly.
I am guessing this is it, as you are talking about after taxes and not an issue about getting 26 (bi weekly) vs. 24 checks (bi-monthly)

Why are using a $10 an hour example? I would have never stopped unemployment for a wage like that.
^^^The poster is using $10 as a mere example. Don't rise to the defense automatically. The poster was trying to help explain it to you. Just say thank you.
When one check had to last for 3 weekends it was rough. The weekends is when you spent money the most

Fine. You are free to choose living paycheck to paycheck-worried over one extra weekend to fund.
I have savings and get paid bi-weekly so what are you talking about? Semi-monthly was in the past
