I'm looking for jobs in the tech/IT industry that do not require Computer Science degrees, only certificates. I know these jobs exist, as I've heard of them, but googling is not bringing up very pertinent results. I think they're jobs in the realm of networks or something, but I can't recall. Any ideas?

Ask the people who told you!

I doubt you will land a decent position, as you will be competing with degreed applicants.

Well, I can't recall who told me. That's why I'm asking.

That's a good point, though, about the competition. But I was thinking that jobs that don't require a degree would pay much less, therefore there wouldn't be much competition from folks with CS degrees who would go for the higher-paying jobs.

NOT TRUE! I don't know where you live, but in my area, IT is one of the few careers where you can compete without the degree. Certificates and experience get a lot of people hired. The degree is great for PM or Management, but but if you can do the work and prove it in the interview, you will land a job.

I am definitely willing to relocate.

As for experience, I have none, but I am trying to get an idea of potential options. I'm willing to go back to school.

.02 of a senior IT professional.

In these "operational" positions, proven skill/accomplishments > degree > certs.

There are always exceptions. A contractor may be trying to fill a position that requires a specific cert. So that will be the key. But in those cases, you're likely just a butt in a seat and will often be looking for work at the end of that contract.
