Have you ever seen somebody get fired really soon after starting?
If so, what happened? I'm just asking this for fun.

I got fired after working two days at Dollar General. The job was setting up a new store for their "Grand Opening" that Sunday morning. I was fired for being too slow in stocking my areas. They had their "Grand Opening" that Sunday, all right...at 7:30 p.m.!!!!!!

I once fired a guy about two weeks after he started. Actually, the way I considered it, he resigned voluntarily. He no showed two days in a row, then tried to claim he didn't know he was scheduled. Buh-bye.

May have been a scheme to try to get you to fire him (instead of him quitting) so that he'd get unemployment. Did he file, and did you contest?

Don't you have to stay in a job a certain amount of time to apply for UBs?

i used to work at a deli, and a guy got fired on his first day. he was a computer programmer or something like that and he seemed to think that the job was below him and that he could do everything without any guidance because of it.

the last straw was when he just started slicing nova lox for a customer instead of getting my boss or i, who knew how to do it. that stuff costs $$$$ and if you don't cut it right, you can waste huge amounts in a variety of ways. my boss told him he'd be paid for the full day but he needed to leave right then.

you do. i think the amount of time varies by state but i'd be very surprised if you could get benefits anywhere after 2 weeks of employment.

Usually, a serious personality conflict, or there was some aspect of the job he/she could not handle or disliked.
