I was considering secondary education as a career path, but the job market didn't seem very promising, so a new field that is on my radar is vocational rehabilitation. According to the Bureau of Labor, the job market is excellent, but I wanted to know if this all across the US, or just in certain pockets of the country. Specifically, I'd like to know about Southeastern PA and neighboring Delaware/Jersey. What specific skills and prior job experiences are desirable in vocational rehabilitation counselors?

I'm looking into online programs and the most appealing one to me is Winston State in NC (full disclosure: because it is the most affordable) Is Voc Rehab a field where the school you graduate determines if you get a job? Do Voc Rehab agencies care about ranking?

I don't have any great knowledge, but I was and am still interested in that field. I think the best thing you can do is have prior human services work or work (even if it's volunteer) in a career center. I don't think school ranking is that important.
