Our population is growing and I don't think we as a nation are creating enough jobs to meet the population growth. I see more spending on job killing programs and the investments big companies are making will only create low quality jobs while high quality jobs are being outsourced or over extending existing workers. The future looks bleak for the next generation of children to obtain their American dream.

The population of the country is growing but that is not true that the population is growing everywhere. I'm not sure what you refer to as low or high quality jobs these days.

People are retiring and that does create openings, I see them all over the place.

Do you have any sources? Also, nothing will stay stagnant, neither the economy or the way society operates.

I don't think you should view it that way. Think of it like ants, the more of them in a colony the more they can accomplish. Also from a business perspective its more customers for your services, or products. The U.S. economy is scalable whether we want to believe it or not. A big factor of people not working is the want to depend on government, or not wanting to work for low wages. Our population also consists of children, and elderly that cannot work, so the problem lies within the people not the system. Too many depend on a company to blindly give them a job so they can reach their "Dreams." Well last time I checked the people who do reach their goals did so buy creating their own business, art, or became a celebrity. Only a fraction of our society will ever reach executive level status at a corporation, and all time that goes into that, could have been used to create your own piece of the American dream. Too many people think like sheep they follow whats popular, they do not think creatively. I have never heard a parent say," I want my kids to go start a business!", but on the other hand I've always heard, "I want my kids to graduate college and get a good job." Well that's fine and dandy, but in a free enterprise society your better off participating in capitalism.

Going back to the early days of this country, there were many workers required to produce the food and clothing needed for the small population because it was all done by hand. As primitive technology evolved, with the cotton gin, steam engine, tractors and cars, less people could do more work. All of this took place while the population was growing, but people were dying at an early age. Since the 1960s, the progress in medical care has increased longevity dramatically, while automation of industry, farms, and the use of computers and communications technology has reduced the need for workers far faster than before. Consider the short time from the first electric typewriter to the dedicated floppy drive word processor to the PC to the laptop to the tablet/smartphone. Then add to that the immigrants coming here and the outsourcing. There will never be enough jobs to go around, the key to success is choosing a career that has the least chance for elimination by technology or outsourcing. Unfortunately many of those are low paying, low skill jobs such as as in the service industry.

More and more workers will be displaced by technological advances and exploitation of cheap global workforce. These are people that still have decades to live and they would need both social and monetary support in order to live out their lives. Medical advances is keeping people alive longer.

I think it's also difficult to predict what jobs will be become extinct over time, the problem is our economy isn't creating good paying jobs. Good paying jobs will become more and more scarce because businesses ultimately want to reduce their dependency on high paying workers.

There's no loyalty in business, once your job is automated or no longer needed. Many business will lay off workers rather than retrain or repurpose them.
