Of course it does. Think about how much of your life you spend at work. If you're unhappy/frustrated/angry 40 or more hours per week, that is going to take a toll. I've been both unhappy and happy in jobs and can tell you life is much easier when you have a job you like.
My work history has been a variety of doing generally the same kinds of day jobs, so the variation of happiness has come from whether or not I like my coworkers and how drab/stressful the work is.
I have been lucky in that my worst job coincided with the best period of my life, where I had a girlfriend, a band, tons of friends and an unbelievable drinking tolerance. So, it wasn't too bad.
I haven't been fortunate enough to work a job that inspires me.

I remember about 10 years ago I said to a friend, I don't think I'll ever work a job I love. I've liked almost all of my jobs, but I am never really inspired. I know some people feel that way, but I think i would need to get out of the business world and into some social type job to feel truly inspired.
Back tot he topic, if I get pissed at work it does affect my life. If my job is not inspiring, I need to find other ways to get inspiration...which is mostly through my children...positively affecting their lives.

^^^ This. If you can find a job where you're happy, it can make up for a world of other ills.

I was very happy with my job for the 4th-17th years, after several promotions. Then I ran a business and was happy with that for about 14 years, the last two were miserable. So far I've been happy with this latest job for 6 years. During the times that I was unhappy with my work it did in fact affect my general, overall happiness, and even that of my family. It's hard to hide from them.
I am cool with my job, love working from home, love flexibility. It is a job, not a career. I don't care about careers anymore, I am counting down til retirement, about 18 years, lol.
