Hypothetical - If you knew you were going to die in let's say two years, would you go to work or would you quit right away and spend your last years completing your bucket list?

Are you kidding? I would work like there is tomorrow. Why? Because the top items on my bucket list include leaving a mark on this world that will last a very long time. My will even says to mix my ashes in concrete that will be used for a concrete structure that will be around for a very long time.

If I'm dying in two years, my life insurance would kick in and I would be blowing through it like a pimp. I wouldn't bother working.

Live fast, die young, leave a beautiful parking stop made from your corpse.

Someone will die tomorrow. A good question.

I wouldn't work because I often say how life is too short as it is for ___ or ___, so life would REALLY be too short if I actually knew when it would end.

Given that I had enough money to not have to work, I'd travel, eat more of the good foods I want, go to movies, own a pet again, etc. & juet purely enjoy life even more...not that I don't now.

Of course. I still have to keep the lights on and food on the table. LOL If they said I only had 2 months to live, I would just quit work and do nothing but 2 years? Nope.

I'd work as much as I can and get a second job because my wife would have to raise the kids by herself when I was gone.

Depends. I'm the sole 'breadwinner'. So my first obligation is to make sure my family will be prepared after my passing. If that means I need to continue working, then that's what I will do. But assuming all that is taken care of. I'd create a plan where my work is phased out and I spend more time doing what I want to do.

Yes, I would keep working. I want my husband and daughter taken care of and paperwork in order so they won't have to probate anything. When my mom passed away last year from a 10.5 year battle with incurable cancer she had everything in order up to her obituary and her service. Although we followed her wish list in a fog, it really helped us out. We didn't have to think about that preparation. I want to do the same for my family.
