I'd prefer (and will hold out for) a 50hr x 40 week schedule.

I currently do:

8 to 4;20 pm Mon to Fri

There's not that much of a difference between an 8-hour day and a 9-hour day. So that wouldn't be a big sacrifice. However, there's a huge difference between a 5-day week and a 4-day week.

The 4-day/week option is a no-brainer.

basically you are asking if 10% less pay is worth working 36 hours vs 40 hours?

why not make the hours equal between the different option So?

I choose 1hr/1 day/week, but paid for 40 hours if you don't care about missing hours

Well the 9x4 is 36 hours/week. So is the 6x6. 8x5 is the standard 40. If pay is the same, I think most everyone would choose 9x4.

Now, 10x4 is a little different. As is the 9/80 which my dad does. M-Th always 9 hours/day. Week one is 8 hours on Friday, week two has Friday off.

I don't see organizations offering the second two.

I see them offering
8 hours x 5 days a week
9 hours for 8 days, 1 day at 8 hours - but this is over two work weeks @ 5 days a week. The 10th day is off.
10 hours a day for 4 working days, and the 5th day is off.

If I had a long commute, I'd do the 10/4 option. If I had a short commute, doesn't really matter.
