It's been over 2 months since I've been waiting for my background check to come back for a few positions I applied for. Right now, I've apply for Titan security in downtown Chicago and I'm waiting for my background check & fingerprints to come back. I contacted the state and they said my federal fingerprints came back but still waiting for the states' to come back. It's been two weeks now for this position. I am on the verge of losing everything because I have not been able to get no job due to my background not coming back every time. It's been like this for almost 4 months now and my landlord is fed up with me now. Is there someone I can contact that can let me know what's going on with the Illinois State?
It's the government in one of the most corrupt states in the Union. Why on Earth are you sitting around waiting on them? Go get another job. If it's impossible to get a background done in a timely manner, go get a job that doesn't require one. I would never wait two weeks for a job, let alone two months... I'd tell 'em to either start paying me or forget about it, I'm going somewhere else.
When it takes a long time for background check, the first check may have came back with something they want a more thorough check on, or are looking at to see if there is some one with a better back ground check instead of you.
If you are hired subject to a clean background check, time after time like you say is happening it is almost always a sign there is something on that report, that may not be very serious but enough that it is keeping you from being hired.
It can happen where something a little dodgy is on the background check, which you do not realize will come up. Sometimes it can be in error, and needs corrected.
