So much for the college degrees... No college here and I'm in the 80-90k range...which is much lower than most of my coworkers due to my not working my max available hours or extra days. Most of my coworkers are in the 100-120+k range.

1984 is for the year you were in the Marine Corp? You had 30+ years to work up to it. Come back in 30+ years and the millennials will have it made too, because all the failed ones will be dead or in prison/marginalized

Every generation is the same, given enough time people forget the losers in history

I don't know what those people, the employer or someone who made those ads, were thinking. I don't know how much do they make. For sure they don't make that little and have so much work/responsibilities to do. Some people really think somebody else is really stupid and they could rip that person off to make them rich.

With such salary or wage and the responsibilities, one would rather do nothing and go to the food bank everyday. Sad, but that salary or wage won't cover for anything; and that job can make you mental.

Whoever gets the job is because s/he is desperate at the beginning, but s/he won't stay long for sure.

That's the point, stay long enough to make up the lack of experience they failed to get in college

Low salary isn't new, it is a law firm, people been saying the law grads were saturated for decades now

OMG, so sad. I did not have to study so much, and I make much more than that.

It is a law firm. Law firms are notoriously cheap and the only people who count are the attorneys.

Go back and read the first post, especially near the end. One year experience is not no experience.

Just for the heck of it, I went back and looked at my earnings record on the SS site.

I was making 21K in 1984. No degree.

Maybe not. Unpaid internships are all the rage with employers.

Actually, I lost everything and was almost homeless in 2008. I had to start over from scratch. I only went to Trucking school in late 2013.

We have an inspector that wears a khaki work uniform and hard hat.

High school graduate is required.

Must be NICET Level III certified to inspect fire sprinkler systems.

90% of the time he works by himself and has unlimited use of a company vehicle and typically drives 100 miles per day if inspections are close by but if far away he has a company credit card for lodging and food when on the road.

Bosses are NEVER around and an inspector NEVER has anyone looking over their shoulder. All inspections are done on laptop with reports sent to the office and customer.

The average fire sprinkler inspector earns $53,160 but I have known some who have earned six figures through commissions and long work hours. Instead of 40 hours per week they might work 60 to 65 but the money is good. How much would you work for $100K plus full benefits and company vehicle?

The best part about the certification is if you need a job you will be hired within 24 hours and I am not kidding, the market is just that tight.

And people with degrees actually apply for crap jobs like the OP posted?
