Yeah, let them eat a meal in peace. They will be a better worker. A hungry worker is often a useless worker.

I definitely agree. I couldn't care less if they used my microwave... and some of these posters not wanting workers to use their bathroom? Are you kidding me? Do you want them to go outside like an animal?

Well walk a mile in someone else's shoes as the saying goes. You have no idea what else anyone has going on or how they live.

I live alone, I've lived alone almost my entire life. I can barely stand to entertain a friend here for an afternoon, though I do, to provide a healthy balance to my life and friendships. I feel enormous stress on the day. Once she (whichever friend it is) gets here I settle down and enjoy the visit, but 3 hours is about my limit.

Having a stranger in, even though they are here to do a job, is almost intolerable. A stranger wanting to use my kitchen appliances would be far beyond my tolerance.

I don't get what's so difficult about that... It's not like you have to lift a finger... They use a microwave for a few minutes and that's it..

This is what you get out of that comment?

You're describing an edge case that doesn't apply to the OP's situation or the impetus behind the comment about being kinder.

Your status and dislike of other humans has no bearing at all on this situation. If OP was someone like you I'm guessing she would not have hired them in the first place.

Some of these comments.....my goodness.

Oh yes it does, lol. And the husband wanted the cleaning service. Did you leave the nasty "rep" comment? That's against the rules ya know.

I don't need you to "get" it, but as I mentioned earlier, I can't stand the smell of other people's food. My house, my smells. Each of my friends has a special blanket I keep just for her and put out on the chair, when she comes. I can't stand other people's smells on my furniture either. Are you getting the idea now?

I agree that you are an edge case and there is probably a clinical name for your condition, like misophonia but for smells. 99.9% of humanity does not have to keep a special blanket for covering furniture for each individual person who comes over, or they can’t stand the stench. But you would not have a regular crew of people coming in to work in your house in the first place because, as you said, you couldn’t stand it, so your opinion on the weekly cleaning crew while valid is not really relevant.
