We can't wait on the government or a new President to get things rolling . We need a Grass Roots effort to get Americans back to work, so that we can turn this economy around folks !!! We need INSIDER INFORMATION !!! We need people on the ground who have the 411 on what's going on at companies !

Please post if you KNOW that your company is REALLY hiring and what types of positions are being filled ! And please post pay $$$ if you know that information also ! I don't know if company employment website links are allowed, but I believe as long as this doesn't turn into classified ads or SPAM, we should be A-OK to post the information referenced below in my example !!!!

PLEASE ONLY POST first hand information and not hearsay or newspaper reports, etc. !

Example:

ABC Widgets
Hooterville, CA
Customer Svc Reps - $12 hr
Production Operators - $15 hr

THANKS for taking the time to post jobs here and Happy Job Hunting to those unemployed or underemployed!!!

I don't know if you are aware of this very real situation: But most companies in my area are on hiring freezes. No one is being hired where I work; in fact, some have been let go.

My company is laying off 400 people starting Jan. 1st. Not quite the same as you are looking for...but not that many people are hiring right now.

Also, what other way to get a job is there, than a 'grassroots' movement? Why would someone hope the government pulls them out of something like this? The only real job security is being better than the guy next to you. The government isn't your mother giving you an allowance. If you want a job, no one owes it to you. Get out there and work harder to find something...

You know, the govt. needs to regulate these crappy corps more for us workers who've always been there, always will. But yeah, finding a job right now must be scary. Not a lot out there.

One thing I've noticed, is the usual dept. stores are hiring for xmas help. Just not as much in the past.

My job has the usual needs for mental health assistants. But, as an academic teaching hospital, it can pick and choose from over-educated people more than ever (and as underpaid as ever).

No kidding -- compare cost of a Masters/PhD with rate of pay, very sad.
