factory+ (AP) - YAMAGUCHI, Japan, July 21 (Kyodo)—Three Chinese women filed a petition with a Japanese court seeking compensation Tuesday, claiming that they were forced to work in a harsh environment as vocational trainees at a sewing factory in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
The women demanded in the petition that the operator of the factory in Hofu pay a total of about 13 million yen, including unpaid wages, for what they described as unfair treatment such as the lack of proper training, long work hours and low wages.
