comfort shoes are designed to provide comfort and cushioning for those who are on their feet all day, or are designed to relieve various kinds of foot pain. Some comfort shoes use patented technology and rely more on testimonials than research. Others have won the Seal of Acceptance from the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA). Because the causes of foot discomfort vary, no one design can relieve all problems.

I've got 2 jobs & for both I have to wear sneakers. So for me it's Sketchers De Lites. Love them & I HATE sneakers!!!!

I use to work at a truck stop & I got away with wearing flip flops all day (8-8 1/2 hours a day), that I miss. My feet don't like being confined in a sneaker. But I gotta wear them for the jobs. When I'm not working though it's all flip flops or berkinstocks, unless it's cold & rainy or snowing, then I stick with my sneakers.

Forget cheap!

If you HAVE to wear heels, Cole Haan Nike Air and some Aerosoles are good. Look for extreme cushioning. Buy them a little big so you can add gel inserts if necessary.

If you can wear regular shoes, you can't beat Skechers Shape Ups for standing/running all day. I wouldn't say they are fashionable but your feet will live on to serve you in your later years.

Have you tried TENEVIS walking shoes! These shoes are awesome, especially if you stand a lot. Doctors and Nurses all over the country love these shoes. They are FDA approved to lower impact. And the best thing: they also look good. You can buy them online at Walking shoes-fitness shoes-exercising with comfort and style with Tenevis shoes

I hope that helped!

I haven't read the other posters' comments, so I apologize if this is a repeat, but flats are good (especially ones that can accommodate insoles if you need them). Try Rocket Dog (found at DSW, among other places). They are cute and comfortable. Here's a link to one: Rocket Dog Marilyn Fabric Flat Rocket Dog - DSW

If I had to work in an office again (I did two years as a tech writer) I'd plan to wear some sort of slacks outfit and flats/boots or the closest thing I could find to hiking shoes.
I now work nights in a psychiatric hospital and wear hiking shoes all the time.

I used to wear Aerosoles when I had a more professional job. Now I wear Skechers (http://www.skechers.com/style/24867/shape-ups-x-wear-hyper-blast/blk - broken link)with a stiff sole for my job that involves lots of walking (helps my tendonitis). I really recommend Skechers as far as comfort while standing.
