Is anyone here a certified yoga instructor? I'd be curious to hear your experience with choice of studio/teacher for your training, how long it took & what the total costs were (if you don't mind sharing the latter). Also, how long did you study yoga before venturing into teacher training & how did you decide on which type for focus, since many of us do multiple practices?

I've known those who've studied for 2-yrs, partially because they trained nights/weekends. I've seen courses which are all day, 5-days/wk for several months. I've known those who packed up & moved to another country to complete training for 6-mos or 1-yr. Today, I was surprised to find teacher training online for several hundred dollars which allows 6-mos to complete tests & take the required local yoga classes.

I'm very casually checking into training now. I'll be relocating in 1-2 months, so am just in the research phase & actually wouldn't begin training for 1-yr. However, I did find suggestions online to ensure the teacher's training program has accreditation with the Yoga Alliance to ensure being hired by a studio afterwards by being able to obtain insurance.

If anyone trained or worked as a yoga instructor in the UK, I'd love to hear your story, as well & the process you followed to become certified. I may eventually return to the UK... but one thing at a time.

Thanks very much.
