Ah great. as a recent graduate from an American University I want to be sure that I can work abroad in the next 30 years or so and not worry about any new stigma that may arise due to an economic decline of the United States.
Naw, and even though we are in a rough spot with our economy, we are not in a dire situation either. Now if we were on our way to becoming a third world country, maybe degrees would lose respect, but the U.S. is not going down that path.

As an American who has been living abroad for the most part since 1996...
Our Education at the University level isn't in question at all. Those seem to be solid, and will be for quite awhile.
It's just the trust in our financial system....and lots of suspicious of our political motives.
But education reputation, at least at the university level, seems VERY SOLID.
Perhaps if it is specialized in "public finance administration" , but other than that it should be fine...
