I read in my brother's handbook to the history science, that in nineteen century people work for 10 hour/day. I is sad that people were exploited, I though and went out to work for twelve hours.
My record is work 15 hours in Monday, 18 in Tuesday/Wednesday, 20 in Wednesday/Thursday and 6 in Friday (in Saturday was Eve, so I didn't work),although in December I was working only 232 hours. Still far from my manager - 298 hour per month.
Some say that Polish has longest real working time in Europe, but we are far away from Vietnamese (mostly) illegal immigrants.
If you speak of the EU, France is a NET contributor, it gives more money than it receives.
That is true.
Estimates for net receipts from EU budget based on 2009 budget data(negative amounts show net contributions) LINK:
1. Denmark -0.53% of GDP
2. Italy -0.41% of GDP
3. Germany -0.37% of GDP
4. Finland - 0.36% of GDP 5. France -0.34% of GDP - total € -6.46 billion
6. The Netherlands -0.26% of GDP 7. UK - 0.24% of GDP - total € -3.86 billion

Yes, that is true, but it is also true that the Common Agriculture Policy beneifts France the most by far (22%) compared to the UK (8%). French farmers getting paid to do nothing
They don't take breaks but work for more hours, not to mention that many overtime hours are not paid.
Almost the entire EEC Budget goes into supporting unsustainable agro, that is, investing money in unsustainable economic activities.
i've always wondered which country worked the most hours per week with the least vacation days per year (most hardest working country) and which country worked the least hours per week with the most vacation days per year (least hardest working country).
My take:
Most hardest working country in the world : United states with two weeks vacation (if offered by employer) and 40 hour work week. I've known a lot of americans who'd spend time working while on vacation and work more than 40 hours a week on average. I've also known a lot of americans who'd work part-time or temporary with no paid vacation.
Least hardest working country in the world : France. Correct me if i'm wrong, france forces you to take about 7-9 weeks paid time off? 35 hour work week?
As an american worker, the french way is very appealing to me.
Greeks work something like 200 hours more than Americans and roughly 500 more than Germans, just to say to all those labelling Greeks as "lazy".
