For now, anyway. Unless you have genuine reasons that are not political, you'll feel right in no time. I used to think I was supposed to have been born Canadian, back when I was 17. Then I realized life doesn't revolve around politics. So, unless you have a good non-political reason for feeling the way you do, then I'm afraid your feelings will be cast along to the winds of fancy.

I cannot stand Americans who think that they are Irish this and British that. You are American, nothing else.
The lifestyle you lead is almost certainly an American one.
It could be that these Americans are just looking to experience a new type of life. Why that would offend anyone is beyond me. Also, after traveling and loving England, Ireland, and many other places, I love the American lifestyle and know that we have it pretty good over here.

Maybe they do feel this way, but it just shows how arrogant and condescending they are. When I meet people who have come to America because they like our way of life, I try to make them feel welcome. I do not try to make them feel that they are inferior just because they weren't born here.
Sorry but I just have to post this. I love having enough water pressure to luxuriate in my huge garden tub in the house I own. I also love turning the air conditioner down low enough to have to sleep under a down comforter, going to the theater and concerts whenever I desire, driving my sports car all over this vast country, and watching hundreds of television channels. These are just some of the things I love about being an American, yes, I am a spoiled American and proud of it. This country has everything to offer its citizens, and we don't realize how lucky we are until we travel to places not as fortunate.

In some places you can, but it is just not the same as the USA. Go visit some countries in Europe and you will see what I am talking about. Age and history are beautiful, but not always comfortable.
Well I don't mind the US, but it would be fun being Brazilian, Argentine, or Venezuelan :3. My only complaint is living in the suburbs >.<, I definitely should be in a city (like Chicago or NYC).
