Try and compare the central districts of Berlin (Mitte, Prenzlauerberg, Kreuzberg and Friedrichschain) to Chicago's Loop, near west, near south and near north sides in terms of pedestrian activity, mixed-used development, and general streetlife/vibrance.

I've been to both, but it's been too long since I've visited Berlin. Does anyone else have any opinions on how the two stack up relative to one another?
Anyone else have any opinions regarding which feels like a comparatively larger city in the central area between Berlin and Chicago?
