Lol this might be a weird question, but I've been informed that having a separate small room with just a toilet in it is uncommon or unknown in the States. Here in Australia, it's common in homes, although toilets in bathrooms are also common. I haven't visited enough homes in other countries to know if it's common there, so I'm wondering if this mostly an Australian thing? I think it makes sense, I mean what if you wanna use the dunny while someone's in a shower? Of course most houses have at least 2 toilets. Maybe it originates from us having a lot of outdoor outhouses, the old 'thunder boxes' that you can still find in a lot of older homes here.
Wow I have never even heard of that. Definitely not in Canada.
By the way, while we're at it, what are those mini toilets that you see directly beside normal toilets in places in Europe and Latin America? They have taps on them I think. I really don't understand what it's supposed to be.
Well, I figured you used toilet paper lol I was just curious about the hand washing part. Seems inconvinent.
Do new homes still follow this practice?
Yes, they do. Old homes do too, I live in a 100 year old home that has a WC inside the house.
