I like songs in languages that I can understand or at least in a language that I have been exposed for an extended period of time such as Chinese.

Sort of on topic, but has anybody else noticed that when the Welsh speak it sounds like they 'sing' their words? I love the Welsh accent for this reason.

I like Russian and Spanish in songs. Italian is good for opera. French isn't very good for singing honestly, it sounds much better in poems and sh*t like that

Spoken welsh is much more beautiful than written welsh.

Italian, of course...I agree Chinese sounds better sung than spoken.

Something like this.
I think English for example sounds great in pop-music, but if it's something classical - it goes totally "flat."
There you need an Italian language.
( Although with Italian - I don't know about "faster pop songs" - when Celentano sings, to me Italian in this case still sounds perfect.)

Adriano Celentano - Soli - YouTube

And when Joe Dassin sings in French - French sounds awesome to me, where in other cases French doesn't sound like anything outstanding...

So it all depends I guess.
