Maybe one day the death toll of a single event goes up to 4 figures, that might make some change.

^ Sorry, it's not possible. When something bad happens in Europe, them Yankies-Libertadores write something like "lol...europ is warzone, i'd take gun shootings any time over terrorism".

Except:

1. How many terrorist acts do we have in Eastern Europe?
2. Even compared to Western Europe, shootings/terrorism are tiny % compared to % in the US.

IDK. I mean, there just has to come a point when people really stark asking themselves that is it all worth it? But I there won't any time soon, as people in the US have become more pro gun in the last 20 years though crime is down from the 90's.

If this didn't change things in 2012, NOTHING ever will.

It's a cultural thing I have lived most of my life among them and a significant segment of them place guns on a pedestal up their with their obsession with religion, being white, unfettered capitalism, competitive sports the US military and the US flag.

It's not about the guns I'd say but more about the culture around guns, the fetish. Switzerland also has many guns but I'm not aware that guns are that hot of a topic in Switzerland and that they play an integral part of being Swiss, which definitely is largely the case for America.
