Exactly, the US has enough nuclear bombs to destroy the entire planet thousands of times over... I guess that person wanted to see us do it, .
Russia can basically do whatever it wants. And no, I don't want a war to break out.
People here argue "America has the biggest military, the most nukes, hurr durr!". Russia doesn't seem to be impressed by that. Neither would be China. Even North Korea plays old Harry with the US on a regular basis. That leads me into believing that the US isn't the sole superpower.

What is so great about being a super-power. You mentioned 3 nations: USA, China & Russia. Neither is in the TOP 10 for living standards. Is dying on foreign lands something Americans take pride in?

Did I say it's great to be a superpower? I'm living in a country that spends 0.8% of its GDP on the military. And after actually serving for my country, I can say that our army is a joke. Do I care that we probably won't dominate the world within the next 15 years? Not one bit.
How in the world the fact the fact that the USA can nuke the whole world is a decisive argument to explain that the country will remain as the sole superpower?? The USA can't nuke the world. I would damage themselves a lot, and it would lead to a severe internal crisis, as most people would be likely to be deeply against such action.
USA is the current sole superpower due to political, economic, cultural and military power and influence. It's a mix of all, and it's the economy the aspect which works as the basement of the others. China is expected to rival USA's economy size in some 15/20 years, and even though the other features that define the influence of a country in the world come later, I guess it will be enough to make it a second superpower (thus, USA would no longer be the sole world superpower). And don't forget that Eastern and Southern Asia are among the regions with most growth and basically half the world lives there, so an economic/political drift is expected towards these regions, which may further affect the influence of USA/Europe in the world.
Anyway, I think the world is going be more 'atomized' in the future, and the big economies are expected to represent a lesser fraction of the total human production, so the existence of superpowers as we currently conceive it may disappear.
LOL dream on, the US is going to stay the only superpower in the world and I'm Chinese!
Can't tell if serious...
