London has far more first generation Irish, with England have the largest population of people born in Ireland outside Ireland itself and Great Britain being a mere 12 miles from Ireland at the narrowest point meaning historically there has been massive migration over the centuries and a substantial Irish presence and influence in many cities in Great Britain including the Capital London.

Switch 'Catholic church' for 'Mosque' and you have just described a certain segment of the immigrant Muslim population. Most Irish I know don't hate the English without wanting to be 'brainwashed', as you put it, either. If you hate the natives in the country you move to, maybe you shouldn't live there.
