Hello everyone. I want to know what you think about something :
Is there a country on this planet where national identity is not connected to "race", ancestry, place of birth, religion etc...
A country to which you can fully belong and be considered like a true 100% part, not a 2nd class citizen who hears that he's "not a true *name of a country*" just because of innate factors.
I ask this question because I've realized that a lot of people in a lot of countries sometimes make distinctions beetween people of the same nationality based on that kind of factors. So I would be interested in knowing if it's not the case somewhere
I'd say the US, Canada, Australia etc BUT in the US for example you will be grouped in with the "Latinos" or the "blacks" so to the answer the question non.

The only people in the US grouped with Latinos and Blacks are Latinos and Blacks. However, Latinos and Blacks are still considered as American as anyone else. To be an American, all you really need is citizenship. No one says someone is not a real American based on your race or national origin. If you believe in socialism some may say that but that's about it and even then, most people aren't saying it seriously (there are always a few knuckleheads that mean it).

or "whites" or "Asians". But that's not a national identity.
