I must say Indonesia is absolutely Stunning!!! A top Megadiverse country we must all protect. I hope to one day to have the honour to travel this extensive archipelago.
Do you go by overall no. of beautiful spots? Or do you go by beauty per square mile? Answer will depend on that. Places like Iceland, Norway, new zealand would win beauty per square mile category.
It's difficult to go past USA and China in "cumulative beauty" category. But these countries also have miles and miles of boring landscape where nothing really happens.
Switzerland is the most beautiful by the square mile. The US by sheer abundance of areas with beautiful scenery. The US also has very large areas of boring corn, wheat and soybean fields.
As far as the single most beautiful area in the world, it is the Swiss Alps. Particularly the village of Zermatt but anywhere along the train ride from Bern and via Brig where you transfer trains. As for the US, it's definitely the Pacific Northwest/Cascade region.

People should watch the documentary called Aerial China on YouTube. First season is available in English. It features geographical wonders that are found throughout the country. I never knew before that China has these unbelievable landscapes.. You have to see it to believe!
