I bet many of it's citizens at that time liked this one more:

The document I posted before should be cover page of Soviet passport for travel abroad. As in Soviet Union it's citizens were so restricted from traveling abroad (that was the biggest shortcoming of soviet life actually) and one had to be really happy then that document was given him/her.

I could not well understand why SU had to be so pretty claustrophobically detached from the rest of world. Even to visit the satellite countries was not that easy for some reason. A relative of mine managed to visit during soviet years West-Germany, Denmark and Spain (+ a few satellite socialist countries) and the relative was according to soviet standards certainly a well-travelled person.
I once red some travelogues written by persons lived in tsarist Russia and it occurs that travelling in those tsars' times from Russia to other countries was much less complicated.

For me the appearance of passport is not that important, more important is where you can travel with that document ( ofc, you need some money as well).
As for appearance this one is even better than passport: https://www.politsei.ee/dotAsset/162964.jpg

I'm not sure what you mean, by "even to visit the satellite countries was not that easy for some reason". It wasn't that unusual for workers to be sent to Bulgaria for vacation, or for a komandirovka (work-related travel), and Romania got groups of young adults attending summer study programs every year. I don't know about the other satellite countries.

True, to visit satellite countries was easier but it was not like it is now within EU - just buy a ticket and go.
