Roma, Milan, Edinburgh, Copenhague, Prague, Amsterdam, St Petersburg, Vienna... even Nice lol. The list is long, and Barcelona is far behind because I didn't like Madrid that much... So I'm not thinking about B which could be a mistake.

During the first half of my life, Barcelona was still in the brutal grip of Generalissimo Franco. Today, Austin has possibly the worst traffic of any American city of any size, so that comparison is no plus.

Even if I thought Barcelona was the best city in the world, I would not declare my opinion to be one of universal sway. Odessa, Ukraine, is.

It’s a fascinating city. I already enjoyed it, but I wouldn’t say it’s the best.

Is Barcelona really different than Madrid ? This city a big "unkown" to me, I would like to give it a try for a weekend or 3 days, if it's worth it ..
Totally different.

I'm not a big fan of Madrid, even though Segovia and Toledo impressed me.

Barcelona has better climate, beaches(Madrid is landlocked) and probably better vibe.

Madrid is also too big for me, it's like the European CDMX.

Barcelona has been downgraded to the bottom position because of terrorism, politics, and crime. A lawless place, pickpockets on the loose, dirty and "day tourists" that only leave their excrements.

A friend of mine went there 10-20 years ago (I’m bad with time). He really liked it, said great food, great wine, could go out at any hour and lots of people out and about but his favorite thing he said was that all the women had “ball bearing asses” LOL.
