Many years ago, my son's boss told him not to use so many commas. My son asked me how to know. I said when in doubt, leave it out as it's better to have too few than too many.

On the NJ.com site, in an article on the outbreak of high levels of influenza, there are some tips for avoiding the flu.
My favorite one recommended "A regiment of hand washing with soap and water".

Yup!
Call in the military to wash your hands if you want to stay healthy this winter.
