the phrase "fashion DNA"
as in when someone looked pained at what I was wearing and told me I was "born without any fashion DNA"
I am frequently amazed (or, is it...appalled?) by how many people fail to comprehend the actual definition of DNA.
In addition to the type of gaffe noted above, there appear to be a lot of people who think that DNA is another term for semen. If the DNA of a perpetrator is found on the clothing of a crime victim, many (perhaps most) people will leeringly interpret DNA to mean semen.
In reality, the DNA could have come from blood, or skin cells, or saliva, or hair, but for some bizarre reason a whole lot of people seem to think that DNA directly translates as "semen".

I can't believe "noone" is defined as a nonstandard spelling of "no one."
What??
You take that back!
My husband, one of the smartest people I know, mispronounces certain words. Normally, I just ignore it, but the other night he said "so-ey" sauce for soy sauce. It was beyond what I could bear. I teased him for a good 30 seconds or so.

My cousin, an intelligent, educated man, ordered an Asiago burger - but pronounced it: "Asia-go".
Stupidist thing I ever heard. - facebook post on a local news article.
When I was a teenager, I ordered Camembert cheese at a fancy restaurant in Switzerland. And, yes, I pronounced it, "Cam-em-BERT." *head bonk* "Hey, can I gets me summa that Camembert and Ernie cheese, hey!?"
